Talk to an empathetic recurrent pregnancy loss specialist

The language and terms used to describe the many ways pregnancies can end can be distressing and hard to hear. It is my job to ensure you have a safe place to feel your emotions and learn more about your body, to ensure you can move forward and have the best chance to create the family you’ve always dreamed of.

There is a complex range of emotions you may experience after pregnancy loss, and I am here to answer common questions you may have about what will happen to you and your baby, how to cope with grief, managing other people’s reactions to your news, returning to work, coping with subsequent pregnancies and more.

As a specialist in recurrent miscarriages in Sydney, I also help my patients to understand the many reasons behind a pregnancy loss; to understand that it isn’t their fault – most commonly, a chromosomal mix-up is what causes a first trimester miscarriage. If you need to talk to a support network and understand that you’re not alone in dealing with recurrent miscarriages, or if you’re ready to move forward with a fertility specialist in partnership, I’m here to support you and your partner.

FAQs

In the medical world, recurrent pregnancy loss, or RPL, is defined as two or more miscarriages. If you have experienced recurrent miscarriages, there may be a medical reason for this. At my clinic, we can talk to you and your partner about why you may have experienced recurrent miscarriages, and make an assessment about your fertility to help you grow your family.

There are many reasons for miscarriages to occur, and in the first trimester it is very unlikely that your actions or lifestyle are responsible. More often, an abnormality of the chromosomes, something which is determined at conception and during cellular division very early in the pregnancy, is the reason.

Miscarriages are upsetting and something many women experience. It is not helpful or fair to blame yourself for losing a pregnancy. My focus as a recurrent pregnancy loss specialist is to support you while you deal with this loss, and find the best RPL treatment available if you do need help with fertility issues.

First trimester miscarriages are very common, but this doesn’t mean they’re any less difficult to deal with, or that the grief that comes with them isn’t real. Dealing with health implications, the emotional weight and the practical elements of losing a pregnancy isn’t easy, and both you and your partner may feel overwhelmed as well as grief stricken.

As a recurrent miscarriages specialist in Sydney, I focus not just on the medical reasons for a lost pregnancy, but on supporting you emotionally through this difficult time, helping you recover and move forward. I want to assure you that you are not alone when dealing with recurrent pregnancy loss, and to help you understand the options available to help you into the future.

If you have experienced more than two miscarriages, the reason could be a number of factors affecting you and your partner’s fertility. Through a fertility assessment, I can help you identify these issues, and recommend an RPL treatment method to help you achieve a successful pregnancy. Every year, I work with many couples to find the right fertility treatment for their needs, and I can help you too.
